Study Experience to Iceland

Apr. 12 - 15, 2018

As part of our commitment to enriching the Post-16 curriculum, The Geography Department is hoping to organise a Study Experience for our students to Iceland (Dates to be confirmed when flights arranged  but we expect it to be from Thursday 12th April- Sunday 15th April 2018).  This educational visit would be extremely worthwhile for your son/daughter.  Whilst in Iceland your son/daughter would have the opportunity to visit places such as the Blue Lagoon and a geothermal power station. These trips will expand their understanding of the A Level specification, and they will return with evidence which will contribute to their geographical knowledge and broadening of horizons.

The Study Experience is arranged through NST an established, fully ABTA and ATOL bonded tour operator.

The cost of this trip reflects the current financial climate, increased fuel costs, coupled with travelling during the Easter holidays in order to avoid any disruption to curriculum time. Taking these factors into consideration the cost of the trip will be £935.00. This is the maximum possible price, and may decrease slightly if we get sufficient numbers. The cost of the trip includes the following.

  • Return scheduled flights from London to Iceland
  • Return coach transfers from the airport to the accommodation
  • Coach travel between school and the Airport
  • Accommodation in Rejakvik and 1 night in the countryside.
  • Comprehensive Travel Insurance
  • Breakfast and evening meals for the whole group
  • Lunch on one of the days
  • An excursion to the Blue Lagoon
  • An experience of glacier ice walking.
  • Coach tours on the Golden circle with a local tour guide.

There will be the opportunity to purchase food during the trip as the price does not include lunch for every day.
