Year 10 Geography Field Work 2018 - Birmingham

Jan. 18, 2018
09:00 — 16:30

The Year 10 Geography course this term involves the study of urbanisation, including a case study on Birmingham.   In order to complete the compulsory fieldwork component of the GCSE course, a field trip to Birmingham is being organised.  This will enable students to take part in data collection for Human Geography. A further trip for Physical Geography will be organised later in the year.

The trips for the teaching groups will take place on Thursday 18th January 2018 or Friday 19th January 2018.  Teachers will inform students which day they are attending.

The departure time will be 9am and returning at approximately 4.30pm.  As the return time is outside the normal school day parents and carers will need to arrange alternative transportation.

Throughout the day the students will be working on foot in the city centre.  Students will be accompanied by members of staff from school.  Disciplinary arrangements, which operate in school, will also apply to this trip.

Students are not expected to wear school uniform but should wear clothes suitable for outdoor activities.  A waterproof coat or jacket may be required.  Students will need to bring a packed lunch.
