Who we are...

The MSPTA is a charity registered in England and Wales with the Charity Commission, number 516332. Our aim is to help students and staff of the Minster School by:

  • Raising money so our school can purchase items, which current budgets don’t provide for.
  • Delivering voluntary help for extra-curricular school activities.
  • Encouraging and maintaining close and valued relationships between parents, carers, teachers and the school.

We meet on a monthly basis to plan and organise social and fundraising activities throughout the year as well as organising voluntary help for the school.   All are welcome. Please join us at the Hearty Goodfellow, Church Street, Southwell NG25 0HQ on the first Monday of the month at 7.30pm. If there is a school break or bank holiday, we would meet the first Monday after this.

Follow us on Facebook for all the latest news, including meeting dates: www.facebook.com/MSPTASouthwell.

If you want to have an informal chat about any home/school related issues, we’re here to listen and, if necessary, we can raise areas of interest or concern with the school.

There is also a teacher representative on the MSPTA to act as a liaison between the school and parents.

Our events and activities have raised money for:
  • GCSE Pod contribution to three year subscription.
  • The refurbishment of outdoor spaces, to include more seating and facilities for students to use at break and lunch times.
  • iPads for the school photography club
  • The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
  • Break time clubs and groups for students
  • Equipment for the food technology department
  • Life skills for young people such as first aid training
  • U-give Uganda
  • Extra tuition for university entrance exams
  • Music provision and outdoor play equipment for the Minster Junior School

If you wish to get in touch with us, please email MSPTA@minster.notts.sch.uk  or follow us on Facebook

This year our aim is to raise funds for outside equipment and in order to do that we need your help. You can support our school by signing up to Amazon Smile, Easyfundraising and the Co-Op funding. This won't cost you anything, but whilst you shop you are raising funds for our children and school. And while you're here why not buy a ticket for the PTA Big Christmas Raffle. All the links can be found below. Thank you for your continued support.

MSPTA 50:50 Club

What is the 50:50 Club?

The 50:50 Club is a prize draw, run by the Minster School PTA, where three winners are selected at the end of each term. 50% of the cash we raise makes up the termly prizes and 50% goes towards essential resources for our school pupils.

How does it work?

Anyone who wishes to participate pays £10 per number per term. There will be a draw at the end of each term, whereby three numbers will be selected. The first prize is half of the prize pot for that term and the next two prizes equate to 25% each of the prize pot. There is no limit to the amount of numbers a participant may purchase and no maximum or minimum number of participants. It is simply £10 per number, per term. Numbers are allocated at random.

Who can join?

Membership is open to all parents, carers and staff. They must be aged 16 or over.

What do I have to do to enter?

Please complete payment using the school’s ParentMail system ParentMail log in

Please remember to renew your number(s) every term. Numbers are allocated at random.

How do I get my number(s)?

Numbers will be allocated once payment is confirmed. Your number will be notified by email or text.

When will the prize be drawn?

The draw will happen in the last month of every term, at the PTA meeting. The lucky winners will be notified by email and/or text and/or phone call. They will be issued with a cheque for their winning amount. Winners’ first names, first letter of surnames and their number, eg: Alice A – 151 will also be announced in the Minster School’s Works newsletter and on the PTA Facebook page www.facebook.com/MSPTASouthwell
