Cognitive Ability Tests (CAT)

At The Minster School we want to ensure every student achieves their potential. For this to happen we need to know the strengths and weaknesses of each individual student.

The School conducts what are known as Cognitive Ability Tests or CATs. They are taken at the start of Year 7 and again in Year 9. These tests are nationally recognised and are recommended to county schools in Nottinghamshire. They are conducted in most county schools as part of a commitment to measure a student’s ability and the progress of all students during their school life.
