Year 7 Clumber/Rufford Holdenby House

This event will take place between 8:15am and 4:15pm on 22/06/2018.

The History Department are planning to take all Year 7 students to Holdenby House in June 2018. We expect the visit to offer the opportunity to extend their understanding of the History course they are currently studying. Holdenby House in Northampton is Elizabethan England’s greatest mansion, Royal Palace and prison and therefore has a unique place in English history. This visit provides the opportunity to study the Tudor’s in fantastic detail, including various aspects of their daily lives. Students will have the chance to get actively involved in their history studies through numerous engaging activities during the day which will truly bring the Tudors to life. The visit will take place on Thursday 21st June for Thoresby/Welbeck groups and Friday 22nd June for Clumber/Rufford groups. Coaches will depart at 8.15am and will return at approximately 4.15pm. Students must arrive at school no later than 8.05am ready for a prompt departure. As these times are outside the normal school day parents and carers will need to arrange alternative transportation. Whilst the visit will be non-uniform it is expected that students will attend the visit appropriately dressed and prepared to spend a portion of the day outdoors. A packed lunch is required. It would be beneficial for all Year 7 students to take part in this visit. Students of parents/carers who do not wish their children to take part will remain in school and undertake work related to this visit.
