Last week our year 7 students enjoyed History and Geography trips in glorious weather. They visited a Tudor mansion in Northamptonshire and Dovedale in the Peak District to learn about their studies in real-life contexts.
While at Holdenby House, students had the chance to experience life in Tudor England through such diverse activities as a pike drill, archery, making herbal medicines and cookery. Thanks to Mr Vyse who organised and led the trip and to the students whose behaviour was exemplary.
Dovedale is one of the most beautiful natural spots in the country and during their visit to this stunning location, students learned about interlocking spurs, glaciation and river meanders. Once again, the year 7 students acquitted themselves very well and enjoyed their learning - thanks to Mr Aldred for his organisation and expertise.
