Exam Board - Edexcel A Level

The nature of the course:

Fine Art is a course that combines both practical and critical/contextual work through a range of processes and media. You will learn about the way artists work and communicate ideas and information visually. You will analyse their work and link this to the development of your own ideas. The course offers a broad based study in which you will develop your creative and thinking skills to solve problems. It will enable you to build on and improve your own knowledge of processes and techniques by experimenting with new and traditional techniques.

Course components:

Component 1: Coursework; including a personal investigation and related study of continuous prose between 1000 - 3000 words - 60%

Component 2: Externally Set Assignment - 40%
