The nature of the course:

Geography A level provides you with a dynamic and contemporary opportunity to engage with the world around you. From looking closely at landscape systems such as glaciation, to understanding how people perceive the places around them, Geography topics inspire a love of the subject. In the debates topics, students will further develop their knowledge of both disease and climate change, whilst developing the skills to discuss issues in depth. The independent investigation offers students the opportunity to choose an area of the specification they are most interested in and use their fieldwork and analytical skills to explore it more deeply.

Course components:

Component 1: Physical systems Examination - 24% of A-level grade. Component 2: Human interactions Examination - 24% of A-level grade. Component 3: Geographical debates Examination - 32% of A-level grade. Component 4: Non-examined assessment 4,000 word project - 20% of A-level grade.
