Post 16 Bursary Fund 

If you are aged 16-19 and studying in the Sixth Form, you could get help with education-related costs through the Post-16 bursary funding. This can be used to pay for things such as clothing, books, equipment for your studies, transport etc. For further information, please go to www.gov.uk/1619-bursary-fund/overview

In order to be eligible for the funding, you must meet certain criteria. Please access the application pack below for details regarding eligibility and complete the application form included if you meet the criteria. If you are unsure whether you will be eligible, please complete the form and return to for assessment with the relevant supporting documentation.

Reporting An Absence 

If you would like to report an absence for your child in the Sixth Form you can do so by telephone, email or written note.

Dress Code
 

Aims

  1. That Sixth Formers will look smart and be good ambassadors for the school visually as they move about Southwell and elsewhere.
  2. That they present role models to which the main school would aspire.
  3. That the differences between their dress and the rest of the school mark them out as more mature, responsible young adults and are immediately recognisable as Sixth Formers.

Students should be aware from the overall guidelines to look tailored and professional – dress is to be conservative, formal and be suitable for smart office daywear.

Boys:  

  1. Trousers suit-style plus collared shirt (tie preferred). Suit/or jacket optional.
  2. Shoes must be appropriate.
  3. Sweaters or cardigans.

Girls:

  1. Suits with skirt or trousers.
  2. Skirts –Length should be just below/above the knee and the skirt smart and tailored in style.
  3. Trousers – smart, tailored.
  4. Shirts or blouses with collar and sleeves.
  5. Shoes must be appropriate for a school setting.
  6. Sweaters or cardigans.

Jeans and denims of any style or colour

Soft canvas shoes

Strappy vest 

Trainers

Transparent tops

“Doc Martin” type boots

Polo shirts

Low waisted skirts or trousers

Leggings worn as trousers

Shorts
