An opportunity to teach at an outstanding National Teaching School housed in contemporary accommodation and located in the beautiful cathedral town of Southwell.

The Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic, ambitious and creative teacher of Geography. The successful candidate would be expected to teach Geography up to KS5. They will join a very successful department, with an expectation to strive for excellence at every opportunity, commit to sharing practice with others but also to expect the highest quality of support, excellent benefits and personal professional development. Applications from NQTs are welcomed, and completion of NQT year would be accommodated.

The successful candidate will:

  • be an excellent classroom teacher of Geography able to teach throughout the age and ability range
  • have a graduate qualification in Geography
  • be passionate about Geography and be able to inspire a similar enthusiasm in our students
  • be committed to raising the attainment of all students
  • demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • be committed to supporting and contributing to our school ethos of Succeeding Together and the values of Wisdom, Optimism, Resilience, Kindness and Service

The successful candidate would be expected to teach PE up to KS5; the ability to teach boys PE and a willingness to teach another subject would be an advantage. An opportunity to work in an outstanding National Teaching School housed in contemporary accommodation and located in the beautiful cathedral town of Southwell.

The Governors wish to appoint a departmental administrator. The role will involve producing resources/communications as required by teaching staff, working with teaching staff in lesson planning, being responsible for keeping and updating records, liaising with parents, supervising students on trips and providing general administrative support as directed. All work will be under the guidance of the line manager and appropriate subject leaders, within an agreed system of supervision.
